Fixtures

Here are my latest FPL fixture rankings. Now we’re 10 weeks in I can do some analysis on how good these fixture rankings really are, so I’ll try to get something up to delve into that in the coming weeks.

Watford still have the best-attacking fixtures but have scored just once in the last 5 matches so don’t all rush at once

Leicester players are getting a lot of attention (can’t think why), and happily this coincides with an excellent short-term fixture list.

Arsenal also have some good fixtures but a lot of defensive shortcomings and not many enticing attacking options…

At the other end its Bournemouth, Brighton, Villa and Man City with tough runs; I would sell any players from the first 3 but maybe hold onto the City assets just in case.

Stats

GW10

  • It’s fairly surprising to note that none of the Leicester players tops the key stats
  • Most touches in the box was Sterling with 17, followed by David Silva (13), while Vardy (8) had fewer than Firmino and Rashford!
  • Ayoze Perez was only joint top for goal attempts (7) and shots in the box (5), with Salah, while Vardy was behind Rashford
  • Finally, Martial had the most “big” chances (4) but only scored 1, while Vardy had 3 and put them all away. Clinical.
  • At the back it was like going back to last season as the 2 Wolves wing backs, Doherty and Jonny topped the touches in the box and Doherty was joint top for goal attempts (3) with Pereira
  • Still a heavy bias towards TAA and KDB in chance creation with 7 and 5 respectively, although Chilwell did break up the top 2 as he made 6 chances last week

GW5-10

  • Sterling (65) and Salah (49) are still top for touches in the box by some distance, and Sterling has opened up a real gap! It’s getting to a point where I’m considering (whisper it quietly) selling Salah
  • They have both been beaten for shots in that time by John McGinn (24) and Neal Maupay (21)
  • Tammy Abraham and Chris Wood have each had a massive 8 big chances, but only scored 2 and 3 respectively!
  • TAA (23) has created 3 more chances than KDB (20) in the last 6 weeks, but also played 180 minutes more!
  • Pascal Gross is not far behind either on 20, shame about his upcoming fixtures!
