Liverpool players on Ballon d’Or list – 7

From front to back, Liverpool almost overflowed the whole 30-men list. Starting with their deadly front three, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, and Roberto Firmino, all three have made the list.

No surprise as they continue till today to hit high numbers in front of goal. All three have achieved the 50-goal milestone in Liverpool colours with Mo being the fastest, accompanied by Firmino and Sadio catching up with him this term.

Following them is the Champions League semifinal hero, Georginio Wijnaldum. He is the only midfielder from the club making the shortlist. A surprise addition from Merseyside is young full back, Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Then the final two, who are two players who have also been successful at country level are Alisson Becker and top-three favourite, Virgil van Dijk. Find it extremely strange how Andrew Robertson is not on this list. He performed just as well throughout the Merseyside’s marauding campaign, both in the EPL and UCL.

Man City players – 5

Man City take no spots in the defensive section. Their count of five players are some of the best attackers in the league and world right now. Starting with the Kun, Sergio Aguero.

Then rightfully named their best player of the 2018-2019 season, Bernardo Silva. He should be a big shout for top 3 or top 4. Not only doing the business at club level but also doing it on international level, smoothly taking the batten from Ronaldo.

Surprised with the addition of Riyad Mahrez? Not really seeing as he led his country to an African Cup of Nations gold medal. More surprised about Kevin de Bruyne as he had an intermitted season plagued with injuries.

Therefore handing the floor to B-Silva to shine for City in a title-winning campaign. last on the City list is a player who should be thanking Pep for joining the Manchester side is Raheem Sterling. Playing at the top of his game, Sterling is righteously added to the list of world elite footballers
