Everton took another loss the weekend past. This time at the hands of the English champions, Man City. After the loss, how much time does Marco Silva have at Goodison Park?

It has been no secret that Marco Silva’s job at Goodison Park is hanging on a thread. The Toffees have failed to meet expectation, especially in their hunt for a European spot. Since the start of the season, there have been big debates surrounding Everton.

Debates of whether this Everton side is good enough to take on any of the top-six teams and if Marco Silva will still be in a job come to the next international break. The former debate still has time, while the latter debate, time ticks on and is reaching its climax perhaps.

Everton’s problems this season

Picking out the Toffees problems are quite hard. Not only at the back do they struggle to keep out goals and acquire clean sheets. But they also have struggled to score goals this season. This, even though they’ve been one of the busiest clubs in the summer transfer window that has passed.

Everton has so far lost to Man City (3-1), Sheffield United (2-0), Bournemouth (3-1), and Aston Villa (2-0). In their last five Premier League matches, they’ve lost these four, conceding 12 goals.

Everton’s next three fixtures

Burnley vs. Everton
Everton vs. West Ham
Brighton vs. Everton

Will we see Marco Silva after the international break?

If Silva manages to lose the first two encounters, he is as good as gone. These will be tough outings, but outings they can turn in their favour no doubt. Burnley hasn’t been particularly overpowering in their run, while West Ham has been surprisingly good as they sit in fourth place on the log.

The next contest they come against a club doing pretty bad themselves at the moment. If they cannot take points from the Brighton fixture, it means Silva is not fit to take this Everton side to the next level.

Next. Leicester keeping the EPL interesting. dark

One thing has to be said… The Everton public who believe their squad is anywhere near the quality of their noisy neighbours, Liverpool, they are sadly mistaken. Their position, points, results and gameplay display how far apart the two are from each other.
