English Premier League Matchday 7 preview – Can Liverpool make 7-7
The impressive young Chelsea host Brighton at Stamford Bridge. New manager takes on the other new manager. Who will prevail of the two?
Chelsea vs. Brighton
Chelsea will be hoping to produce the same quality in midweek that saw them put seven goals past their Carabao Cup opponents. Their difficult fixture against leaders Liverpool had more positives than negatives.
Lampard has an attacking squad able of putting any team to bed. This specific fixture plays heavy in the hand of the Chelsea manager. Potter loves an attacking game, so we can prepare for a nice open, free-flowing encounter. Chelsea has won this clash every time the two have met (4 meetings).
They’ve scored 11 and Brighton has only scored once in those meeting. The most recent meeting between the duo saw a 3-0 victory for Chelsea. Expecting a similar scoreline, with the Seagulls chipping in with one or two goals due to Lampard’s poor defence.
Everton vs. Man City
The best attacking side in the country with 24 goals goes up against a side that really hasn’t gotten out of the starting blocks properly this season. High expectation ended considerably early after a couple of poor results leading up to Matchday 7 for Everton.
In City’s last three showings they have scored 14 goals, while the Toffees have conceded seven goals in their last three outings. Of these three, Silva has lost all three placing them 14th in the standings and on seven points.
This gives us a clear indication there will be one winner here and that’s Pep’s ruthless Man City side. Counting even more in favour of the home side, they’ve only lost once in the last 12 meetings against the guests.
Literally, nothing stands in favour of Marco Silva taking all the points.
