The first instalment of Friday Night Football has come and gone. Now we ready ourselves for the first action of Monday Night Football with Wolves welcoming Man United.

What if I told you Wolves are the favourites going into this game? What if I told you Man United could be favourites heading into this encounter? What this basically means… The duo is quite well matched and we could see the two share the points later this evening. Most importantly, this is going to be an excellent dispute.

Wolves, strong at home but off to a slow start. The Wanderers struggled when they went up against Leicester City, as they were the first of all the Premier League clubs to fall victim to VAR, having a goal disallowed.

Man United, the bigger threat after their victorious Matchday 1. Ole and his United side went at it with a new look Frank Lampard and his Stamford Bridge side on opening day, in the first of many top-six standoffs. They wiped the floor with Chelsea at Old Trafford.

More from Manchester United

Why must Wolves be positive?

All three meetings last season between Wolverhampton and the Red Devils went in favour of the former. Arguably the best side outside of the top six and also boasts one of the better managers outside of the top six.

Nuno will want to build on last season’s amazing return to Top Flight football. With a draw plus a point already on the road, it’s sort of the best start. Leicester is a direct competitor for a European slot. Therefore doing well to achieve a stalemate away from home against an immediate Europa League rival is pretty much a job well done. And remember they only drew because of having a goal disallowed.

Santo has also been on a major up at the Molineux Stadium. They’ve gone eight games without a loss, including taking points from the team they face later today.

United confident and well-rested?

One of three teams to score four on opening day. Also, one of nine teams to keep their goalmouth tidy with a clean sheet. This has set up United in a good way on their travels. However, they will have to humble themselves coming against a side who has been a real thorn in their side prior to this matchup.

Wolves are one of few sides who have made it near impossible to take points from this fixture. Manchester has lost three and won two, drawing nothing from the last five outings versus Wolves.

United also have to better last season’s start where their first game on the road was also a loss. Besides this, United still have one of the worst records away from home recently. Losing three and drawing one in their last four on the trot.
