Matchday 1 is finally over and most of the new signings from the summer transfer window has played their first minutes at their new clubs. Let’s see how they have fared in their new jersey.

Here’s a list of Premier League newcomers: TTF’s Premier League summer roundup

Liverpool 4-1 Norwich

Debutants: Josip Drmic (Norwich) and Adrian (Liverpool)

  • Adrian was signed from West Ham on a free to replace outgoing Mignolet. He didn’t have to wait too long to get into action. Allison went down injured within 36 minutes of the match. Calf-injury will keep Allison out of action for at least 4-6 months. Solid debut for the new backup goalie of Liverpool, could do a little for Norwich’s only goal.
  • Swiss Drmic also saw 20 minutes of first-team action, replacing their goalscorer Pukki.

West Ham 0-5 Manchester City

Debutants: Haller and Fornals (West Ham), Rodri (City)

  • Haller’s hold up play was brilliant throughout but he was deprived of service. Will undoubtedly be a nuisance against weaker oppositions. Fornals came on from the bench, and any player will find it hard to look good against this City side when they are 2-0 down.
  • Rodri had a solid, unspectacular debut. He was excellent on the ball but caught in possession a couple of times. One had a chance to concede a penalty.
