The coach, Marco Silva has paid fine attention to improve every position across the field. Yet, one position remains unaddressed – the center-back.

Everton bid farewell to Phil Jagielka after 12 years of association. To make matters worse, they failed to make Kurt Zouma a permanent signing. This was double trouble for the Toffees. Everton are short of a successor to the legacy of Jagielka and the impact of Zouma.

The seven signings add much-needed energy and firepower to the squad. There is an air of dynamism and enthusiasm among the fans; they are sensing a revolution is on the cards at Goodison Park.

Everton for a long time, have been trying to break the barrier that is preventing them from entering the top six. There’s potential that the invisible wall could finally break.

To make a flavorful Scouse, you must need a strong meat base. Last season the emergence of Richarlison, the excellence of Sigurdsson, the robustness of Digne and, the commanding intent from the rest of the squad has paved the way to a very strong base.

Now is the time to add the vegetables, to make the dish healthy and tastier. The new signings serve up to be these vegetables.
