The ripple effect and wave of exiting players are yet to hit Newcastle after the dismal decision to not resign Rafa Benitez to a new contract.

The summer transfer window has just begun and already some of the business happening around the world racks up there at the very apex of no sense.

So far of all resolutions reached, Rafa leaving Newcastle has been the dumbest.

The fans have met it with uncertainty. Media and pundits are in agreement with the Magpies that Rafa was the best man to take them forward in a time where things are rumoured to be on a positive rise.

More from Manchester United

Mike Ashley has put the club up for sale (16000 times already) and reports suggest this time it seems more realistic than fake news spreading.

What follows will not be good for the club

Rafa was a man who believed in his full squad and gave opportunities to those who demonstrated their worth in training. One player to do so under the Spanish manager is Sean Longstaff.

The midfielder unluckily had an abrupt ending to the 2018-19 campaign. Newcastle and the mid man were just about getting into a groove and then boom! A major injury setback for Longstaff and Rafa had to recalculate things in the middle of the park without him.

Now the worry for Newcastle, have they seen the last of their boyhood youth player? The unfortunate knee injury he suffered during the second part of the campaign has not deadened any interest in the player, knowing good and well he is only 21-years-old.

Man United might get their man

Man United and Ole Gunnar are hot favourites for Sean Longstaff and have been since the reopening of the transfer window.

Now it emerges because of Rafa’s retreat from Newcastle, fans are begging Longstaff to leave the club rather than stay while this Mike Ashley problem extends to persist.

"Newcastle United fans tell Sean Longstaff to leave for Manchester UnitedLongstaff tweeted: “Thanks for the opportunity to make my dreams into a reality! All the best @rafabenitezweb.”One supporter replied by saying: “Go to United mate .. too big of a future to waste at NUFC.” Another added: “Don’t blame you if you go to United now Sean, nobody’s stepping in your way.” (via Manchester Evening News)"

I believe the transfer for Sean to Old Trafford will happen this summer window and we will see him as a Man United player soon.

Besides him, we could certainly well see a Miguel Almiron transfer out of the club after a short and extremely exciting spell in the Premier League.
