Everton making big moves after agreeing Gomes deal with Barcelona
One for books if or once the signing of Andre Gomes to Everton is signed off. Looks as if the Blues of Merseyside mean business and a push for Champions League football is on.
It is believed Barcelona midfielder, Andre Gomes will be moving to Goodison Park on a permanent footing after the two clubs reached an agreement of 25 million pounds. Paperwork the final piece before the deal can be confirmed.
"Andre Gomes to Everton for €25M and a €2M bonus if Everton qualify for the Champions League according to Cedric Rablat. (via Twitter)The player is expected to complete the formalities of a permanent move in the next 24 hours following his successful loan spell at Everton last season, when he made 29 appearances. This is fantastic news to have beaten off many suitors, including West Ham, who offer a similar challenge but London over Merseyside. However, not in this case this time. The other was Spurs, who offered a sweeter deal!

Silva’s determination to seal a permanent deal for a regularly used figure in Andre has paid off for him and the Toffees. The mid man was always going to take everlasting leave from the Spanish giants, it was just a big ask to what location exactly.
With the arrival of Dutchman, Frenkie de Jong, space was closing down for the Spanish player. A move away was the best option. But was Everton though?
Reports were wide off in the beginning!
Afore the reopening of the summer transfer window, it was almost certain Gomes was ready to snub Everton for Tottenham after initial reports. Many outlets believed Spurs needed only to submit a bid of the amount Barca was requesting and the midfielder was theirs.
"Spurs have ‘already agreed’ on a deal with the player’s representatives and they’ll offer £30million in the coming days. (via football.london)"
Frankly, it appears Spurs and the media were just creating unnecessary hype and are once again on route to sign no players this summer. Full story here: The Top Flight
A good addition to the Everton team for years to come and could be a convincing bargaining chip for them to draw the attention of other top players, giving them loads of confidence moving into the new season.
