Transfer News: Man United submit £35m bid for Moussa Dembele
Reports out of France believe Man United have handed Lyon an opening bid of £35m (40m) for striker Moussa Dembele, which has since increased to £40m (€45m).
Almost every player across Europe has been linked with Man United, and the latest is hot cake, Moussa Dembele. The striker has been monitored by some of the biggest clubs in Europe after a great maiden season in Ligue 1.
Afore making the switch to France, Celtic were battling day and night to fend off clubs who wanted the ex-Fulham player. Unfortunately for them, they couldn’t deny the striker, and he eventually left for a bargain fee. He cost the French outfit just £19m (€22M).

After making the switch from Scotland to France last summer, Moussa has been one of the key figures in the Lyonnais’ attack. He managed to stay strong throughout the season, racking up a total of 46 appearances across all competitions.
The big forward then went on to contribute to 24 goals for his club. His biggest offering was his 15 goals and four assists that came in the league campaign. Though in say this, Dembele was overlooked as the season was drawing to a close.
A dip in form saw him come off from the bench and try to make an impact on the game, rather than being started. In their last six league fixtures, he only started twice. Bruno Genesio (Lyon’s manager) opted to go with Depay up front, when not using two at the top. Depay led the line and did so with ease when needed to.
Great business for Man United
With Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez being put out of Old Trafford, and Rashford still in a contract standoff, a £35m/£40m move for Moussa sounds a bargain.
He will add goals and will serve as a great target man up front for the incoming Daniel James. He is strong and has an eye for goal as stats would show. At 22-years-old he offers bags of experience having already played in the Champions League and Europa League.
