The out-of-favour striker Romelu Lukaku could seek refuge in a place he’s been longing for since a child. What was a dream could soon be made a reality by the election of Antonio Conte at Inter Milan?

The Belgian who signed for Man United from Everton for the large sum of £75 million could be on his way of out of Manchester and England altogether. After two unsuccessful seasons at the biggest club in England, it appears time has run its course and the striker must seek greener pastures elsewhere.

The United number 9 has seen a 90-degree drop in form and has since lost his place to Marcus Rashford. The Belgian enjoyed a short spell of brilliance, but it wasn’t worthy of a place in the Champions League next season. Clarifying, United’s £75m went down the drain with the transfer of Lukaku.

They could recoup some funds from a transfer

Sky Sports reported on Thursday afternoon Romelu could be on route to Milan as the city of Italy preps for an Antonio Conte welcome. The ex-Chelsea boss will be named the man at the helm for Inter, in the coming days.

United could use this quite well to their advantage if they are smart enough about what they want out of the deal in a time of desperation. United need to recover at least half of the funds spent on him, and/or take a player exchange.

Ole could lure and persuade Mario Icardi away from the blue and black stripes of Milan. He had a troubled 2018-19 campaign, however, with Conte coming in, we could have very well seen the last exit rumour of the Argentine striker.

They should not settle for anything less. At 26-years-old he will slot in perfectly, in what Ole has planned for the coming years at Old Trafford. This move must happen for United to move forward.

What the Daily Mail is reporting

The Daily Mail is reporting Inter are planning a bid in the region of £30 million, that will include World Cup 2018 runner-up, Ivan Perisic.

"Inter Milan are preparing to launch a £30million bid for Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku, and are prepared to throw in Ivan Perisic to sweeten the deal.Croatia winger Perisic has been a long-term target for United while Lukaku struggled to hold down a place in the team under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy, who say Inter will also move for Edin Dzeko at Roma.  (Taken from the Daily Mail)"

A step backwards

This I feel will be a step in the wrong direction if they accept. Perisic is old and doesn’t fit what United need now. The experience will come in handy, but will it offer the labour required to have a team who can outrun any team in the Premier League?

Victor Moses is the other player also said to be on the Italian club’s radar with Conte coming in.
