Not a great deal was known about David Brooks when Bournemouth paid 11.5 million pounds to sign him from Sheffield United in July.

After only one full season in the Championship, it wasn’t clear if he would be able to cut it at the highest level.

But it didn’t take Brooks long to prove any doubters wrong. He has had an excellent debut season, scoring seven goals and assisting five times in his 28 Premier League appearances.

Still only 21, Brooks is one of many young Welsh players with very exciting futures. It wouldn’t be a surprise if one of the big clubs came in for him in the summer, and they’d have to pay a lot more than Bournemouth paid just nine months ago.
