Wolves take down another of the big six – Man United no match in Molineux
Man United collapsed once again in the top-four race after failing to take advantage of Tottenham’s loss to Liverpool over the weekend. Wolves with a masterclass comeback inside the Molineux fortress.
Ole Gunnar and his United side went through the phases against Wolves in their Matchday 33, midweek fixture. They went from good to bad, to ending as the worst team on the pitch. The list of Red Devils who were no-shows in Tuesday’s rally is truly longer than the list of those who were visible on the night.
The Manchester side’s lead through Scott McTominay was deserved, but so was Wolves equaliser by Diogo Jota and the go-ahead goal which was also an own goal by Chris Smalling. Nuno Santo’s men showed exceptional character to come back from behind and win the game. Back-to-back contests facing Man United, a couple of weeks apart, the same outcome! The first time since the 1980s the club from Wolverhampton has reached this supremacy.
After Watford’s trouncing over now relegated, Fulham. The two are severed by a point and sit in the driver’s seat after taking advantage of them leading the way in Matchday 33. We’ve seen what pressure situation does to the players and teams in the rear-view mirror.
Top talks coming from the 2-1 result

Scott McTominay and Diogo Dalot were the best players on the pitch for United. With the shift in positions, one can only believe Ander Herrera is on his way out of Old Trafford. Something that can no longer be ignored. Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are just not good enough to be in a top-six side, let alone Man United.
Rui Patricio, no debate was the Man of the Match in this one. His best save was Scott McTominay’s attempt for his brace. It was something out of David de Gea‘s book. Talking the opposite number, he was all out of sorts in this event. Underwhelming performance by the always reliable David.
Nuno Santo deserves all the praises for his immediate bounce back to winning ways after a disappointing showing in their Burnley loss over the weekend past. Moreover, the football being displayed inside the Molineux Stadium has been second to none and entertains at the highest level. Yet, this form hasn’t manifested on the road.

Wolves keep seventh place a stretch from the trio, Watford (one point clear), Leicester (three points clear), Everton (four points clear). West Ham and Bournemouth’s outside chances are fading away as the weeks chip away and they slip in the European race.
Man United have handed Chelsea a chance to take back sixth place from them. They meet Brighton on Wednesday evening. However, this Chelsea side has convinced nobody.
