Manchester United applies pressure to top-four race after Watford win
Manchester United players have kept themselves in the hunt for a top-four finish this season and the Red Devils managed to get over the line against Watford in spite of their bizarre performance in the match.
It was all about the manager’s night for Manchester United at Old Trafford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer received a hearty welcome from home fans after his permanent appointment as a club manager. It was significant for the manager to maintain his excellent track record so far coming into the game against the Hornets.
Solskjaer’s men had not been in excellent form over the last few matches. The team lost the crucial match for a top-four finish against Arsenal and had faced an embarrassing exit from the FA Cup against the Wolves. Thus, the Norwegian manager had absolutely less time to get back to winning terms and needed to hit the ground running after their international break.

Though the scoreline against Watford did not speak for Manchester’s performance, the afternoon turned out as one of the most disappointing performances from the Old Trafford club. The team showed no signs of improvement from their previous match, excepting for Luke Shaw’s assist and Rashford’s excellent finish for the first goal.
The win against Watford has taken the Red Devils back to Champions League contention. The club is positioned at fourth place with 61 points. However, Solskjaer’s team is facing fierce competition from Arsenal and Chelsea. The Gunners have a match in hand now and a win will clinch them ahead of the Red Devils by two points. The Blues too are on a hunt, and Sarri’s men have 60 points now on the table.

The race for the UEFA league has reached a tight space. Pogba and the team are required to improve themselves soon with only seven matches remaining for the conclusion of the season.
The Red Devils will play Wolves in their upcoming feature of EPL action on 2nd April and will face Barcelona in the Champions League clash on 10th April. It will be a massive task for Solskjaer to make it through the top four and an excellent opportunity for the manager to silence his critics.
