Philippe Coutinho has been experiencing a tough time in Camp Nou since his Barca switch and Liverpool should embrace this opportunity to re-sign the unsettled star in the upcoming summer window.

The days in Barcelona have not gone as per the script for the Brazilian player. The 26-year-old made a bitter move to his dream Catalan club for 142 million Euros, breaking the hearts of those at the Anfield. Coutinho was expected to replace the longtime legend Andres Iniesta at Barcelona. However, the former Liverpool player has been unable to achieve the required form. Coutinho even lost his first team place to Osumane Dembele in the front, making it more difficult to fit him in around Lionel Messi.

Barca has decided to hear offers from various clubs for Phillipe. The board is prepared to offload the player for anything in excess of 80 million Euros. Though the number seven has very few options to make a move, the Reds might face stern competition from Ed Woodward’s club. Barcelona will certainly not offer the player to Los Blancos making PSG another probable destination for the Brazilian.

His time at Anfield

The former number ten of Liverpool has spent an extensive period of time before at Anfield. During his stay of five years there, the star player produced promising performances at the club. The former Inter man had become a crucial player for the Reds and was loved by fans wholeheartedly before his dramatic move to the Spanish city. He had scored 54 goals in his 201 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Liverpool is enjoying tremendous form under Jürgen Klopp. The club is currently at the top of the table in the English Premier League this season with Manchester City chasing the Reds fiercely for the trophy. Klopp’s men have also reached the quarterfinals of Champions League where they will play FC Porto. The team from Anfield has already crossed the fans’ expectation level but now it’s time for them to regain their lost glory. Klopp will definitely require an impressive team for this to happen.

The management has completed some excellent signings over the last few seasons. The club has a reliable triplet of Salah, Mane, and Firmino in the front. The signings of Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker has significantly alleviated their worries in the penalty box. However, they need a strong midfielder who can control the game and make some creative assists to the front three. There were furthermore few mid-field glitches seen in their previous match against Fulham which had almost cost them the EPL trophy.

This makes it even more eminent for the Reds to forget the past and recognize what’s best for the club at present. If Coutinho could reach an agreement with the board, the fans in England will love to see their star player back in spite of what happened a year before.
