It’s almost time for all of Man United to celebrate in arms that their most prized position is about to re-sign for the club. David de Gea and his agent are said to be close to a new deal with Man United.

The number one stopper at Old Trafford looks as if he has made one stop and will not be moving an inch from the United goalmouth. All the scares of him leaving the club and becoming the highest paid goalkeeper in the world somewhere else will be laid to rest after the news broke Jorge Mendes is in the final stages of David de Gea’s new deal at the club

Since he signed for the Manchester club in the summer of 2011, he has been a consistent figure between the sticks and always in the media. United holds the presence of the Spaniard close to heart and is always doing everything in their power to keep him happy.

More from Manchester United

Man United was smart with his last contract

In the last contract ,the board installed a clause they have now activated when they heard PSG knocking on the poles. They were prepared to take David in at any price. They were also fixed making him the best paid goalkeeper in world football, and we know with PSG owner such things said are never jokes.

Happily, United stepped up their business in keeping him at the club and activated a clause they inserted in the contract. After the activation, United and De Gea’s agent started their discussion over the new deal.

The deal is said to be worth £375k-a-week, still making him the most lucrative stopper in the game. Heck! He could be getting paid better than some of the best infielders in the game. De Gea has made a high amount of 265 appearances for the club and has recently in the game against Liverpool, hit his 100th clean sheet in the Premier League.

This season he has kept a low count of seven clean sheets only. United and David’s shocking start to the campaign saw them become the second highest conceding team (36) in the English Top Flight. However, since Jose Mourinho left, the club has been able to keep more goals out.
