Man United: Jose Mourinho and his staff laughing all the way to the bank
One has to admit that Man United is a club with great prestige. So much so, they bite the bullet by parting ways with Jose Mourinho and his boring staff, I meant backroom staff, sorry.
Before diving into the story of how Jose Mourinho really got the last laugh, even though he’s without a job, there is something that has to be mentioned. The two most decorated clubs in the English Premier League has had their unlimited share of duds come through the ranks.
Players sometimes come through the doors and immediately out by the exit. After their exit from either Man United or Liverpool, they sometimes go on and become world beaters, even sometimes finding homage by their Premier League rivals.
Now with The Special One’s departure, one can only think he wasn’t big enough for the club, perhaps. If players can be graded or mentioned as surplus for requirements and deemed “not good enough” then so should managers.

The status and pressure of the English titans sometimes get the better of the best in the world, giving them a hard time to settle in, then eventually never hitting the heights as envisioned. The Portuguese, I feel wasn’t good enough for United, therefore the club giving him the payout is them showing the size of the club is greater than the title of The Special One.
Jose’s and his staff’s Christmas came early
Just before the weekend got underway Sky Sports reported that Man United broke the news on the compensation of what ex-Red Devils manager and his background dancers received. The sum of £19,5 million was the announced fee paid out.
Sky suggests it’s four times more than what the previous two managers received after their sacking, but is still less than the initial fee reported. I’m sorry! But I could find 19,5 million things to with £19,5 million. Jose and his team of bandits wouldn’t even care if there was another million or two shaven off from that total.
With this being said… I want to resign and receive £10 million. Sadly, I must wake up after this happens.
The club has even labelled it as “exceptional items” in their report (that’s quite boss if you think about it). This is a cumbersome paycheck for a group of men who led a team to the Community Shield, the League Cup, the Europa League, and then later led them to fight in midtable battles.
It was money or their status, the club chose the latter. Good play on Man United, cause they can only improve from how far they fell behind to their rivals and their neighbours. United (51) sits 14 points behind the two at the summit of the English Premier League table (65).
