With both sides pushing for the coveted 7th place Europa League spot, Everton and Wolves both needed a win over the other on Saturday.

Unfortunately, Everton has hit a bit of a slump under Marco Silva and are simply not the dangerous attacking side with midfield quality that we would expect, if we saw the team on paper. Wolves, on the other hand, are as dynamic, direct, and dangerous as ever, and we saw that in this match, as they ran away 3-1 winners at Goodison Park. This allowed them to extend their lead over Everton to 5 points and lodge themselves into that 7th place spot. With a match against Manchester City coming up on Wednesday, things could certainly get uglier for Marco Silva and his men.

Chelsea 5 Huddersfield 0:

Following their shocking 4-0 defeat to Burnley last week, Chelsea, and especially under-fire manager Maurizio Sarri, desperately needed a response against Huddersfield to maintain their top 4 challenge and get back on track. This was some response from the Blues, as they crushed the Terriers 5-0 at Stamford Bridge, with new striker Gonzalo Higuain getting off to a superb start with a brace. Eden Hazard also managed to grab 2 goals, with his second one a highlight reel finish that showcases his mercurial technical quality.

N’Golo Kante was also highly impressive, with his assist for Higuain’s emphatic opening finish the particular highlight. As for Huddersfield, the prospect of relegation is starting to loom large and feel like an inevitable occurrence now, with the club sitting rock bottom, a whopping 13 points from safety. The Blues moved back into 4th place in the Premier League, retaking their position from before the Bournemouth defeat.
