GW22 Key Stats

  • Raheem Sterling topped the charts for touches in the box (14) and was joint second for shots in the box (3)
  • Steve Mounie had the most touches in the box of any striker (12) and had 3 shots in the box
  • Dele Alli had 4 shots, all in the box, demonstrating he could be a good Spurs option during this strong run without Kane
  • Leicester defenders ran riot when Ricardo Pereira had the most touches in the box of any defender (6), while Harry Maguire was joint second (5), and had the most shots of all defenders (4)
  • James Maddison created 8 chances for his teammates but got no returns
  • David Luiz, Sane and Lucas Digne all created 2 big chances and all recorded an assist
  • The highest scorer was Declan Rice with a goal, a clean sheet (he’s classified as a defender!) and 3 bonus points

Fixtures

Best: Tottenham – Fulham (a), Watford (h), Newcastle (h), Leicester (h), Burnley (a), Chelsea (a)

It makes Harry Kane’s potential 6-week layoff even more frustrating when Spurs have such a great set of fixtures coming up. First, they visit the perennially leaky Fulham before 3 back-to-back home games against sides with poor defensive records! Alternative Spurs coverage is a must, but who?

Worst: Huddersfield – Man City (h), Everton (h), Chelsea (a), Arsenal (h), Newcastle (a), Wolves (h)

Huddersfield has chosen possibly the worst time to part ways with Wagner. The new manager will have just 2 weeks to get to know his squad and make new recruits, and the January transfer window is hard enough! And while doing that, he has to face 3 of the top 6. It will not be a happy time for the Terriers!
