It has been a mad festive period with the re-emergence of Salah sending FPL managers scrambling, while City lost back-to-back games against teams outside the top 6!

We’ve also seen big changes at Manchester United, making their assets suddenly not only viable but almost necessary given form, price, and fixtures!

This week has seen more big changes for FPL managers. We knew Son was disappearing to go to the Asian Cup (didn’t he already do that in September?), returning for the match against Leicester next month.

But then Harry Kane limped off the pitch and Pochettino’s latest estimate has him out for 6 weeks! Finally, it was announced everybody’s favourite cheap route into the Liverpool defence, Trent Alexander-Arnold is also injured and will be out for several weeks.

As such, a lot of teams need serious surgery and early wildcards must be tempting. I would advise against them unless you have other injury concerns, your bench should be good enough to take the brunt and a -4 can always make a big difference if necessary.

This weekend we have two exciting home fixtures as Liverpool (12 goals in their last 3 home matches) and Man United (15 goals in 5 Premier League matches under Ole Gunnar Solskjær) face Crystal Palace and Brighton at home, respectively.

Which could distract from free-scoring Man City travelling to managerless Huddersfield! Plenty of opportunities for points so here’s the key things to consider.
