English Premier League: Liverpool and Manchester City meet for 1st place
By Amanda Paula
Klopp gets the luck of the draw this season. Last season when the two met for the first time, the Etihad was the venue and delivered a fatal blow on the day.
On paper, Liverpool are not the favourites, but the stats says the opposite. Their most recent defeat to City at Anfield was 2-1 back in May 2003. After that, there has only been 12 wins and 5 draws for the Reds. In addition, they could win five consecutive home league fixtures for the first time since a run of six in a row from January to April 2014.
Guardiola is in danger of losing three matches in a row to the same opposition. Nevertheless, they have to score and that did not happen against Napoli. In the same breath, they displayed a lot of gaps on the pitch and have to find a solution to this. Oh else, Man City will exploit them the most out of any opposition they’ve faced.
