Arsenal 3-1 Brentford

The Gunners had no issues against Brentford at the Emirates Stadium and had the second most convincing win amongst the big-six clubs this week. Danny Welbeck had a brace with Alexandre Lacazette adding the third in stoppage time to win the London derby. Arsenal played some younger players in the squad like Emile Smith Rowe and Matteo Guendouzi. Emery’s men have a chance to go far again in this competition with Liverpool and Man United packing it up.

Millwall 1-3 Fulham

Another London derby took place this week at The Den. Fulham’s “B” team had no issues at Millwall in a comfortable 3-1 victory. The Cottagers have looked very comfortable after their first two Carabao Cup matches and will hope for another non-EPL draw for the fourth round. The fourth round is set to be played in late October.

Wolves 0-0 Leicester (LFC on PENS)

The all-EPL matches all went down to the wire. Wolves and Leicester met again and Leicester was victorious again after winning on penalties on the road. Wolves join Cardiff as the second newly promoted side to exit the Carabao Cup while the Foxes are still alive and well. Leicester has won this competition three times, the last time being in 1999-2000.

West Brom 0-3 Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace returned to the Hawthorns and beat West Brom in a little reunion against last years last-place team. Former Tottenham winger Andros Townsend scored a brace with Dutch defender Patrick van Aanholt putting the finishing touch on the win. Palace has shown they can go far in cups with their 2016 FA Cup final appearance. Can they do it again for the Carabao Cup? Depends on the draw.
