Klopp, as we know, already has one of his key forwards to worry about. Hearing he will make the squad, reassures the manager for a more positive outlook on the opener.

As reported the by club’s website, Lallana, Solanke, Origi, and Lovren are still marked as absent from the lineup. This gives the manager a bit of thinking to do, shuffle here, slide into position there and a debut, or two.

Excited to see what the Anfield manager decides on closer to the time. He has Sturridge, who hasn’t started a game for the Reds. He could use Naby in a more advanced role to help the two up front. Biggest surprise would be if he was to go with Mane and Salah alone up front and turn his 4-3-3 formation on its head.

Everything to play for, for the team in red tonight. They went unbeaten until they reached the semis in their run last term and could better it with a good start in their fortunate home fixture. Will they achieve similar glory, if not more this season? Who knows.

The test over the weekend where Klopp felt they passed with flying colours, was a great introduction for tonight’s even bigger battle.
