When last did £44 million make such a quick return as it did with this transfer of Richarlison? Two on his debut? Not too shabby.

The new attacker’s two goals secured a point. If it wasn’t for a game-changing decision, it could have been two goals that brought home three points for Everton.

His first goal was a tap in from a set piece, that was also the first of the game. He then went one better with a beautifully placed finessed finish in the bottom righthand corner of the goalmouth. It was just the perfect placement, and a great way to cap off his brace.
