The host nation could have a strong run all depending on their opening game.

Uruguay: The team I believe will be crowned as the winners of the group. If you need a goalscorer you got one. If you need a team who silently creep through the cracks, here they are. Cavani and co will win Group A.

Russia: The host has Saudi as a first match. They should be using their home to hit home. With a good start they could go on to end second in the group. I feel they will progress through to the next round as second place finishers.

Group A

Teams
Pos.
Uruguay 1st
Russia 2nd
Egypt 3rd
Saudi Arabia 4th

Egypt: The wildcard team in this group. Depending solely on Salah and his form, Egypt do stand a chance of going through to the knockout stages. Because of Salah’s fitness concerns, the Egyptians come in third place.

Saudi Arabia: The Saudis will finish dead last in this group. They do not have what it takes although they’ve surprised in the past. Many factors stand in favour of the other teams in this group.
