Russia 2018: Challenging predictions of who will win their World Cup groups

The World Cup brings many things to mind, which Orri reminded us so cheerfully of in his 100 things he can’t wait for before the World Cup kicks off, post.

Excited to see a difference to club football and after Euro 2016’s entertainment – Russia 2018 only promises to be far better. Europe vs. Africa, America vs. Asia, and so goes the games. In all this excitement, one of the best games to play is the prediction game.

It’s either you support your country because your country is one of Germany, Brazil, Argentina, or Portugal. It’s always a good chance your side could go home with World Cup glory. Well if you somebody like me, your only wish is to see if your country can make it without getting automatic qualification.

South Africa always gives little hope at these major tournaments, so little so they don’t even feature. Therefore, I get the luxury of supporting whoever I wish – a gift from God for placing me in South Africa.

In this post I will challenge The Top Flight‘s Co-Expert, Orri Benatar in predicting who will be the teams to advance to the Russian Roulette run of the tournament. Some groups simple to call, others harder because of the international competition.

No group is easy to be honest. When you put the best of your nation together, most of the time there comes great results.
