Liverpool’s business under German guidance and English persuasion has reached an all time high, with the club doing some of their best business over the past two seasons.

It’s been a revelation for the Anfield side since Klopp walked in. During the time of Rodgers, Liverpool had to prep for the likes of Rickie Lambert, Lazar Markovic, and others. Now at the back of their first Champions League Final push, the club can boast signings such as, Fabinho, Salah, and Virgil van Dijk.

Players coming at different times, costing more or less the same in transfer kitty (taking into account the increase in market value for players) but having a totally different impact on the club. The Reds have now qualified for consecutive Champions League spells, reached three cup finals, and have ended in fourth place ahead of both, Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Reds business

Liverpool business is far from done and has only just begun. The club frantically search for a new stopper, a Philippe Coutinho replacement, and quality in depth. Since the Brazilian left, Liverpool have adapted and moved on. But in few cases, missed flair and authority in a fixture.

There were times when Liverpool failed to score, or change things around when chasing a game. Showcasing their inability to change the game around in the UCL final, after Salah was ushered off the pitch was where it stood out most.

No plan B. The little flaws that cost the Reds dearly during the season.

Last season they suffered at the hand of goals conceded in the first part of the season, after missing out on their main defensive target in the summer window. Once they locked down the man they had waited for, the goals leaked in by Klopp’s men deadened.

Following the inclusion, Liverpool struggled to find rhythm or an alternative when players such as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mohamed Salah, and Emre Can were out injured. In the final stages and with a change during a match, they struggled to hold on to a result, or even get one altogether.

Xherdan Shaqiri to Liverpool?

Klopp has classified the possible transfer of the nippy winger as ‘not a priority’. This you would think sensible and wise words by the manager. However, taking into account all that’s been said, Liverpool are in need of suitable backups.

Also, if you think Liverpool, you think bargain buys, least possible amount paid for a player who can give 100 percent more than some of your £100 million price tag players out there. Shaqiri comes at a cheap. With a buyout clause of around £12 million, top-six clubs could get a B+ or A- student for the price of a D graded benchwarmer.

Next: Nabil Fekir on hold

Xherdan was a player linked with the Anfield side before he headed over to Stoke. Trying to figure out the Stoke switch, one will be sitting, deciphering for an entire day, attempting to break down the move and only come up with an answer of more playing minutes. This will be the player’s last chance to get in a team playing for honours at the very top.

Of all the clubs in Europe, Liverpool suits the player’s style far more than any others. It will be the best business following their new additions. So a win, win situation for all involved.
