Chelsea: Maurizio Sarri edges closer to becoming the Blues manager
Chelsea’s search for a new manager has overshadowed their FA Cup victory against Man United. The club is inches away from naming a new boss, after gaining pace with Maurizio Sarri.
Less than 48 hours ago, Chelsea was reported to be very close in letting go of Antonio Conte and finding a suitable replacement. Nobody would say, 48 hours prior to the not so shocking news, Chelsea just beat United to the final trophy affordable to the two of them.
Time flies when you looking for a new manager I guess. It’s been five days since their triumph and already Conte’s time has faded and he’s on his way out of a club that once loved his charismatic, passionate style.
Reports suggests Maurizio Sarri to Chelsea is all but confirmed
A couple of days ago Napoli announced the appointment of new boss, Carlo Ancelotti. This confirmed, Maurizio was on the move, but to where was not confirmed. Reports went on saying, his family would play a major role in the Italian’s decision.
This was followed by the news his entourage were locked in negotiations, trying to strike a deal with what looks to be the ex-Naples man next destination. If all is true, the man himself will be London bound, en route to Stamford Bring and finish off the last of the business.
If things run smoothly (which we know won’t be the case with Chelsea’s owner, Abramovich and board), both the conclusion of Antonio Conte’s Chelsea career will take place and the start to the Sarri Bridge. I believe things will not go as well as expected and it could take a little longer than anticipated.

There are millions of pounds involved in the firing of their current Italian and inevitably, lots of funds for the incoming Italian. The sum of £17 million will take the problem away. If my doctor ever told me that, I would tell him… ‘pull the plug, I’m out!’.
Next: A Hodgson story to remember
This is the exact situation the Blues saw themselves in when they sacked Mourinho. Either they will never have a manager able to sit at the same fire as the board, continuing this cycle long past my sell by date. Or these managers have caught on and know where they can get an easy £17 million.
