Liverpool: No stopping their attack that’s half the price of their competitors
The team who’ve kept improving season after season, becomes the most threatening team in the whole of Europe. After such a goal-filled season, is this attack worthy of a Champions League medal?
It’s quite a far stretch to think this side wasn’t playing in the Champions League last season, considering their position in the semi-final. Last season taking part only in the league campaign and two cups – the Reds managed to score 92 goals across in all.
Move on a summer transfer window and something nobody would imagine, Liverpool were about to make the signing of the season, Mohamed Salah. Who would have thought Salah along with striker, Roberto Firmino and winger partner, Sadio Mane would be tearing the net apart on so many occasions.
With two games left in their league campaign, a foot firmly placed in the final of the Champions League, Liverpool have already reached 122 goals this season. In the Premier League, Klopp’s men boast 80 goals for and in the Champions League, are the highest scorers with 38 goals.
What’s even more amazing to add to their surprise attacking powers – the three deadly front men has scored 28 of that goals. The next team closest to them is PSG with 27 goals. With them so far ahead of the pack – they will end as Europe’s most prolific scoring team.
They weren’t even given an outside chance of making top-four
Before the season kicked off last year August, many if not most, thought Liverpool were the least likely to make the top four a second season running. The same lot thought Chelsea were about to mount one of the best title-defending campaign in recent years.
Everybody was sure the Blues title defence would be better than that of two seasons ago, when they failed to make the top four or top six. Well nothing was different really this time around and look how wrong the predictions were on two occasions.
The driving force in this Red wave of goals has been the Egyptian, Mohamed Salah. He has just overtaken Ronaldo with the most goals in all competitions. No secret he runs the show of top scorer in the Premier League.

Following Salah, is the underrated striker, Roberto Firmino. The two have partnered up and have equalled the record of Neymar and Messi [10 goals each in a single tournament], when the two paired up in Barcelona colours together back in 2015.
The three have also rivalled Bale, Benzema, and Ronaldo’s record for most goals by an attacking trio. This all together has made them the best team in front of goal. Only Saturday past did they fail to put one at the back of the net.
Liverpool out did themselves this season by reaching the semifinals of the Champions League. They must hope Stoke City was a slight glitch and they can get back to their best in Rome.
