English Premier League: Manchester clubs both win on MD 36 Sunday

Manchester United 2-1 Arsenal
The match of the day was a classic rivalry never to be seen again. For the final time as Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger faced his greatest foe, Jose Mourinho, and his Manchester United club.
The Red Devils’ Paul Pogba got things started with another goal against a top six side. Pogba has been a mixed bag of genius and terrible performances. He might not be the most consistent midfielder in the world, but boy is he the most entertaining.
While Manchester United’s newest addition Alexis Sanchez played well, the man Mourinho swapped for him performed better. Former United fan-favorite Henrik Mkhitaryan scored against his old club at Old Trafford. The goal was just his second of the season in the league for the Gunners.
The final Wenger-Mourinho battle had something we are used to seeing, dramatics. United unleashed some good old fashioned ‘Fergie time’ on Wenger and won the match in stoppage time. This looping header from Marouane Fellaini got the win for Mourinho. The goal was Fellaini’s first since September 30th.
The two managers shook hands, an occurrence that didn’t happen every time they met. United’s win sparks a five-point lead into second place with a game in hand on Liverpool. The Red Devils end the season with some easier fixtures. Next is Brighton on Friday.
For Arsenal, they are more focused on Thursday’s Europa League contest at Atletico Madrid. Wenger started some youngsters like Reiss Nelson and Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the match against United. The main stars such as Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere will be back for the Europa League fixture.
