Crystal Palace 5-0 Leicester City

The Eagles pounced early with a 17th-minute strike from Wilfried Zaha. It’s now three goals in the last three for Zaha, whose performances for Palace could spell a call-up to the England squad for the World Cup. After this goal, Palace doubled the lead with James McArthur’s goal in the 38th minute.

Palace ran rampant late in the second half after Leicester’s Marc Albrighton was sent off. The Eagles converted three goals in the last nine minutes. Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Patrick van Aanholt got the 3rd and 4th goals. This Christian Benteke penalty made it five and sent the Selhurst Park fans home pumped.

The win is Palace’s second straight at home, the first time they have done that in the Premier League since April of last year. Their current run of form is four straight without a loss. Palace is in 11th and needs just one more win to ensure safety. They play Stoke next weekend.

Leicester’s worst loss of the season is their third in the last four games. The Foxes sit in ninth place on 44 points with three left to play. Their next encounters will be their last two matches at the King Power Stadium. They next face West Ham and Arsenal four days apart.
