Wenger’s time at Arsenal can be split into two stages. And two stages showing a lot of contrast from the past to present day.

His early tenure was one of undoubted success, with three Premier League wins and a Champions League final appearance in 2006. The highlight of his tenure was the 2003-04 Invincible season.

With players like Henry, Bergkamp and Vieira, Arsenal went unbeaten with a now legendary team. However, his time at the helm in recent years has been nothing short of rocky. Despite the multiple FA Cup wins and consistent top four finishes, trouble was brewing, particularly in the last five years.

As recent teams paled in comparison to the Invincibles, and never really challenged for the League or European honours, fan protests grew stronger. Matters grew to a head and culminated in intense pressure and the infamous Wenger Out campaign.

Following 2015-16, fans routinely staged protests and walkouts, but surprisingly, Wenger had his contract renewed only last season.
