Swansea 1-1 Everton

It was an unlucky first half for the Swans. Everton took the lead in the 43rd minute with this own goal off the noggin of Kyle Naughton. It is Swansea’s 13th own goal since 2014-15 (via @OptaJoe).

Swansea City brought on Nathan Dyer and Tammy Abraham to increase the chances of a goal and it worked. Jordan Ayew converted the equalizing goal in the 71st minute, his third in the last four matches.

Ayew’s goal puts the Swans five points above Southampton and that dreaded 18th place spot in the table. Two straight 1-1 draws have Swansea in decent form going into next Sunday’s contest at Manchester City. Everton has drawn two straight now with just four matches left to play. The Toffees will host Newcastle on April the 23rd. A couple more points for Sam Allardyce can give the board confidence to keep him for next season while attempting to secure a top-half finish.
