Arsenal: This must be Arsene Wenger’s swan song at the Emirates
Below is the opposite of what I’m blabbing about, or what most Gunner fans are not feeling. But knowing what the man has achieved in the past gives this little banner its due.
The invincibles, the one thing Wenger holds onto in the English Premier League, that will take some doing to beat. The only team coming close to it – was this season’s mastery Manchester City team.
It’s a record any manager in the world would love to have under his belt and it’s a strong reason Arsene is still at the North London club… I think. For almost a decade, Arsenal became the team fighting for fourth place, a FA Cup, and a chance to play in the FA Community Shield match.
Unfortunately, the Frenchman has not lived up to his usual fourth place antics and has seen his guaranteed fourth place go to other teams, who still fight it out till the end of the campaign.
Providing Arsenal is no longer a top-four club.
Many argue whether the FA Cup is important or not, but one thing’s for sure – Arsene has a job because of maintaining a healthy record in the FA Cup. But even that has been taken away from him now, along with his fourth-fit footballers.
Another record Wenger has to his name but only because of riding the biggest wave, while walking the thinnest tightrope – is the record for most Premier League games managed. Something he shouldn’t have seen, if the club expressed bigger ambitions.
