FA Cup: Manchester United head to Huddersfield for 5th Round
By Orri Benatar
United head east to play Huddersfield for the second time in two weeks. The rubber match will determine a spot in the FA Cup quarter finals.
For the third time this season, the Red Devils have a date to try and vanquish the Terriers. The first match at John’s Smith Stadium didn’t go to plan for Mourinho, whose side lost 2-1 to the newest EPL side. United got three points back from Huddersfield two weeks ago, with a 2-0 win anchored by Alexis Sanchez first goal wearing the red, Chevrolet kit.
It’s been a tough road to the last 16 for Wagner’s side. Huddersfield got the best of Birmingham City in a replay on the road 4-1. Steve Mounie scored twice in a victory over Bournemouth, another 4-1 thrashing.
Huddersfield’s win against United was all the way in October. It’s been a long and difficult season in the top flight since then, with the Terriers just one point above the relegation zone. Every chance Mounie, or the attack can get, they need to score. Huddersfield had three shots at David De Gea’s goal, and they converted two of them. Efficiency is crucial for an upset.

Sanchez’s arrival hasn’t made United better. Mourinho’s team seems to be slipping back to their old attacking ways and into defensive shells. United began the year attacking opponents and lighting teams up. That firepower is essential for the upcoming gauntlet they face.
This match is no easy task. Huddersfield has played United hard in both matches they have played. This is each team’s best chance to win a trophy. Man United can probably get past Sevilla, but the amount of teams better than the Red Devils, makes winning the Champions League far-fetched.
United should start a full first-team, even with a trip to Seville scheduled for Wednesday. This late in the season, you can’t afford to play replay matches. Mourinho should start Sanchez to give Man United the best chance to win.
