Having recently tied down Ahmed Hegazi, the Egyptian sensation to a permanent deal – they’ve now added his national teammate to the ranks, on a loan deal.
Ali Gabr, is the new defender set to take the Premier League stage, after Sky Sports revealed a deal was struck between Egyptian side, Zamalek and West Brom.
Already having leaked less goals since Pardew joined – West Brom has taken to the market to add more resistance to the backline, in search of keeping the goals to a minimal.
It’s a bit of a shock to see another defender come in – knowing the Baggies have only scored a measly 19 goals for the season. However, taking last weekends encounter against Everton into consideration. If the club had a better defence on the day, they’d walk out of Goodison Park with all the points.
A one goal lead was thrown away after leading the game for majority of the 90 minutes. They were nearly over the finish line, yet, a lapse in concentration – saw them lose two of the three they were holding on to.

How well this transfer works for West Brom:
Considering how well Ahmed Hegazi has done in his maiden season at the Hawthorn – you’d already be excited for the inclusion of Ali Gabr.
Having a national team’s centre backing pair, take the field together in your team – you bound for good fortune and a better defensive record. Hopefully, this will put an end to the rising tally of 31 goals conceded.
West Brom’s league position on Premier League table:
POS | TEAMS | GP | W | D | L | GF | GA | GD | P |
16 | Brighton | 24 | 5 | 8 | 11 | 17 | 33 | -16 | 23 |
17 | Stoke City | 24 | 6 | 5 | 13 | 25 | 50 | -25 | 23 |
18 | Southampton | 24 | 4 | 10 | 10 | 24 | 35 | -11 | 22 |
19 | West Brom | 24 | 3 | 11 | 10 | 19 | 31 | -12 | 20 |
20 | Swansea City | 24 | 5 | 5 | 14 | 15 | 35 | -20 | 20 |
In the same breath – if Ali Gabr and Ahmed Hegazi, hit the ground running – West Brom have sorted out one end of the pitch for now, and the near future. If he succeeded as prompted here – he could be a permanent fixture in the Baggies dressing room, with a permanent deal an option.
If it fails in all ways – he can easily be sent back to Egypt with no foul play.
