English Premier League: Southampton host Tottenham at St Mary’s Stadium
The last game of the weekend’s action and the only match taking place today. What to expect this afternoon, after the reverse fixture brought us seven goal madness? Tottenham travel to St Mary’s Stadium, where they take on an inconsistent, Southampton side.
Not the best match to look forward to if you a neutral. However, on the trout – Spurs has been one of the worst teams and collected the least points of any of the top-six clubs.
The Saints return to action off the back of a hard-fought draw against Huddersfield. They’ve been on the decline for sometime now, and show no signs of improvement. Only positive to take from their final fixtures leading to their clash today – a goalless draw against, Man United.
Other than that underwhelming feet achieved by the Saints – they’ve only managed two points from the last five games. There’s plenty reason to be concern, and in all fairness, a new manager needs to be considered sooner, rather than later.

Spurs on the other hand – have strung together a better run of games. They’ve only dropped points once, and that was a draw against a changed West Ham side.
Mauricio, has changed the negative feel around the club after they dropped out the title race. Broken up by the fact they were nowhere near the likes of their counterparts, dropping the most points against top-six opposition – was getting his men down.
However, since the turn of the year and a strong run of games – Spurs edge Arsenal for a Champions League spot – that’s dependant on other results around the Premier League as well.
Expecting Southampton to give it everything they got after losing 5-2 in the reverse fixture. They’ll be working hard not to suffer the same fate as previously endured.
