Liverpool vs. Arsenal

Liverpool hosting Arsenal is the game everybody will be watching this weekend. Two top clubs and two teams that are vulnerable in their own way. Both teams have had their run of impressive form this season and both have had their troubles recently.

A tepid loss to Leicester on Monday invited even more criticism of Jurgen Klopp and his team. This game against Arsenal, now, is a chance to fire back, though. A chance to rebuke the criticism they have faced. Anyway, it’s the smaller games where Liverpool actually tend to struggle more.

The visit of Arsenal should see the home team play with more fire and energy than they have been doing. They need it, too. Earlier in the season, Liverpool were all about energy and fight, now they’re all about defensive errors.

Arsenal will be looking to expose those frailties once more and the Gunners have the players to do so. Despite not being in fantastic form themselves, Arsenal do have quality in attack. If Liverpool perform like they have been doing lately, then Arsenal can go to Anfield a pick up a valuable three points.

The question will be whether Klopp’s men can find the drive and energy to press like they have been known for? If not, then Arsenal are going to have a lot of possession and the home team will be relying on counter attacks.

If Liverpool can force mistakes high up the pitch, however, then everybody knows that Arsenal are just as likely to fall apart at the back as Liverpool themselves are. Whichever team can implement their style best to control proceedings will be in prime position to win this game.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-2 Arsenal
