Where is He Now?

The better question is, where hasn’t Yakubu been?

After Blackburn Rovers, Yakubu went to China. He penned a deal with Guangzhou R&F and played there for two seasons scoring 24 goals in 33 appearances.

After China the Yak was off to the Qatar Stars League, signing with Al-Rayyan SC scoring 4 goals in 14 total appearances.

A free agent in the winter of 2015, Yakubu returned to England signing for Championship side Reading. While he only stayed with the Royals for four months his impact was certainly felt when he scored a late winner against Derby County to push Reading through to the FA Cup quarter finals.

This past summer Yakubu signed a deal with Turkish club, Kayserispor.

With the Yak still rifling goals home at age 32 it’s not out of the realm of possibility that a Premier League club down on its luck could pick up Yakubu if circumstances are dire.

For the Yak, age is just a number.

"“You can see the way I play, so I am not talking about my age,” “The hunger is always there. When you play in England you always have the desire to play.”"
