The Un-Honorable mention list is one that you don’t want to find yourself on. This list is reserved for the few players that, basically failed to make any impact during their first season in the Premier League.

Some would have been expected to make an impact this season while others were risks taken to help improve the side. In hindsight, we now know that not only were these transfers a waist of money, but they actually hurt the squad.

Mario Balotelli — AC Milan –> Liverpool

Spending a season and a half back home in Italy, Mario Balotelli seemed ready to become a factor on the world stage. Attitude problems, run ins with the law, and inconsistency on the pitch led the Italian to leave Manchester City for AC Milan in January 2013.

At a cost of £16 million, Mario Balotelli has failed to make an impact at Anfield. Scoring four times in 26 appearances this season, Balotelli has dissapointed on every imaginable level. Expect the Italian to be gone from Anfield this Summer.

Abel Hernandez — Palermo –> Hull City

Scoring fourteen times last season for Palermo, Abel Hernandez came to the Premier League with huge expectations. Costing a club record £10 million, Hull City expected Hernandez to become one of the Premier League’s best forwards.

Scoring only four goals in 25 appearances, it has now become obvious that Hernandez was not cut out for the Premier League. Now headed down to the English Championship, Hull City have no one else to blame but themselves.

Angel Di Maria — Real Madrid –> Manchester United

When Angel Di Maria first arrived in the Premier League, much was expected of the winger. After all, Manchester United had broken the British transfer record to sign the Argentine from Real Madrid.

Impressing during the 2014 World Cup, Di Maria has high expectations upon his arrival at Manchester United. Whether it was his red card for grabbing the referee against Arsenal, his lack of goals, or just Manchester United crawling to a fourth place finish, Di Maria has been a major disappointment.
