Spending millions has become the norm for any club in the Premier League. Without spending millions each year, no club can expect to compete. Even clubs like Southampton who bring through youth players each season have to improve the squad from the outside each season.
Some of these signings are done on the fly with the hope that they will pan out. Others, are players who have been tirelessly scouted, compared in computer simulations and ultimately bought. Whether it’s for a bargain price or for all of King Midas’ Gold, these players have made a difference during the previous season.
If a club can sign players like these every year, they may not turn into Premier League contenders, but competing for European places on a yearly basis will be a sure thing.
As always though, these teams play a game of chance. For these teams, these players may have made the difference this season, making them the best newcomers of the 2014-2015 Premier League season.
A note for this list, these are players who have played their first season in the Premier League or have returned from playing in other countries for at least two seasons.
