Zlatan Ibrahimovic Could Be In Deep Water For Outburst

Talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic has puns himself under a spotlight for all the wrong reasons. The Swede lashed out after Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-2 loss against Bordeaux on Sunday, despite a two goal effort form Ibrahimovic.

In his effort to blow off steam, Zlatan blasted French football, its officials and what many believe was a bolt on the country itself. In video footage released by a fan, Zlatan made his voice clear and loud in order to voice his opinion, including the fact that he feels like France does not deserve PSG.

In the video below, the Swede is said to have said the following:

"“In 15 years I’ve never seen a [good] referee in this s**t country…It doesn’t even deserve PSG. You’re not playing with amateurs.” (As reported by Goal.com)"

Watch below:

From watching solely the video it is difficult to comprehend whether the Swede did remark France as a s–t country, but what is for certain is his clear disdain for French officials.

This sort of outburst never goes unnoticed in football and could be costly for the talisman and his team as they are still struggling to overtake Lyon in first in Ligue 1.

Later that night, to clear his conscious per say, Zlatan took to Facebook to clarify his remarks. He aimed at his French fans by stating he was by no means demeaning the country itself but the referees in the game.

"“I want to clarify that my remarks were directed at neither France nor the French. I spoke about football and nothing else. I want to apologize if people have been offended.” (As reported by Goal.com)."

A noble move on behalf of the striker as he looked to completely heal the wound.

The man who has played football in five different countries is not stranger to being an outsider, but made sure that his inexcusably fit of rage would be completely out to rest with more commentary via the club’s website.

"“First of all, my comments were not directed at people living in France. I was very angry at that time. If anyone took my words the wrong way; then I apologise for that, honestly. I have no problem with that, because I’m a man of honour. I also think the people of France are intelligent enough to understand the situation. But I repeat: I have no problem apologising to those people that were offended. I respect people that respect me. I received a great welcome when I arrived in France and I’m very happy here. I have had a fantastic time since I arrived in Paris, but I have no regrets and nobody will make me change my mind. So don’t put words in my mouth. I was only talking about football, so let’s just talk about football, because football here is the most important thing for me.”"

Although a deep attempt at apologizing has been made, not all are convinced as Jean Marie Le Pen, a right-wing politician in France claimed that

"“Those who consider that France is a s*** country can leave it. It’s as simple as that.” (Via Goal.com)."

This remark comes from the same politician who during the 1998 World Cup overtly bashed the French National team for not being sufficiently French with the likes of Thierry Henry or Zindine Zidane.

Thus, his opinion of Zlatan makes sense as his career has been built on being outspoken, but with a figure as beloved at the Swede in Paris and his ongoing attempt at forgiveness it is a sure thing he will make amends with fans.

The only problem is he has now creates a row with referees in France. To generalize the officials in such a nasty light only gives Zlatan a greater chance at being treated with more edge. Rightfully so as his comments and reaction were boisterous.

But, in retrospect and taking in his apology, the talismans attitude which is often ablaze on the pitch, was out of control. It is fairly certain Ibrahimovic will suffer a hefty discipline for his actions, considering he just came off a two-match ban less than a month ago.
