According to Young, Steven Gerrard will finally lift his first Premier League trophy for Liverpool come seasons end

YOUNG KIM

League Champion – Liverpool; Sure, Anfield has lost arguably the best out and out striker in the world when Luis Suarez decided to bite his way to Barcelona, but you have to look beyond that to see what will be.  Some will question Rodgers’ transfer activity, but there is just so much depth and quality in every position that it has to ensure a far safer ride to the top this go around.

Lambert obviously is no replacement for the outbound Suarez, nor can he replicate the goalscoring form that the Uruguayan could call upon, but still don’t let that sway you from the importance that depth plays.  For me, Liverpool have enough to win more matches than any of their rivals.  Even if they are tired from an away day in Europe, Rodgers can call on a whole new set of attacking players that can come in and do the job well; it’s the key.

Top Seven – Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Everton, Tottenham

Relegation – Burnley, Southampton, Hull City

Top Goalscorer – Daniel Sturridge, without a doubt.  Look at the ridiculous amount of support he’ll be getting for the duration of the league campaign; there is  no way he won’t crack at least 20 goals again, but he could well hit 25 and maybe more.  Despite Suarez leaving the club, he’ll still shine, and he’s still a strong finisher in his own right.

Young Player of the Year – Emre Can; this is by no means the popular choice, or, well, anyone’s choice to be honest.  Can is a fantastic midfielder who was highly touted and sought after in the Bundesliga during his time with Bayer Leverkusen, to the point where he gained comparisons to Bastian Schweinsteiger.

While he will likely be behind Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson in the selection queue, Can could well win the starting birth over Henderson midway through the season; he’s a far more complete footballer even though he is younger than the England international.  His ability to control a match in the center could end up being the key to league success and if it is, he’s easily YPotY.
