MF Steven Gerrard (England):

What a shocker. The Liverpool captain who led his club to a second place finish in the Premier League last season failed to inspire his national team to a top finish. It appears age finally caught onto Gerrard at the wrong time as he contributed nothing on the offensive and defensive end. The English captain was too slow to screen England’s backline and was unable to find his teammates in the attacking third. It was as if he was brought on the field because of the name on the back of his jersey. However, Gerrard is not the only English player to make it on this list. So rest assured captain, at least you’ll never walk alone.
