Maxim Choupo-Moting (ST, Cameroon):  When you subtract national legend Samuel Eto’o from the equation, you really have no idea were on earth goals for Cameroon will come from.  Only two other players have scored more than 10 goals, Choupo-Moting and Pierre Webo, but after that, only one further player has scored 5 or more goals, Jean Makoun.

Cameroon must avoid a reliance on Eto’o this summer, and the deployment of Choupo-Moting is an absolute must in Brazil.  A very capable striker, with pace and an eye for goal, he gives Cameroon a very solid second option.

Despite his legendary status, Eto’o was less than stellar at Chelsea this season and if his poor form carries over into the World Cup, C-M will need to give it all he’s got. – Drew Thompson

No one is more important to Cameroon than Choupo-Moting. Even though Samuel Eto’o is the captain of the club, let’s be honest. Eto’o is old, he’s out of form, and he’s been easy to shut down as of late.

If Cameroon wants to find the back of the net, it’s going to come from Choupo-Moting who has been in good form for the national team as of late. The Mainz 05 target man has pace and timing in his runs to be a threat in front of goal.

Cameroon is not a very creative side and their goal-scoring chances are likely to be forced and few, but in opportunities where a clear-chance at goal is open, Choupo-Moting will be trusted to make that shot.  – Young Kim
