Oscar (AM, Brazil):  In a World Cup filled to the brim with expectations for the Selecao, it is not Neymar that must carry the attacking burden for the host nation, it’s Oscar.  The Chelsea playmaker is truly the live-blood of the Brazilian offense, despite the trickery and “joga bonito” panache that Neymar undoubtedly brings.

Despite having a lackluster second half of a season in London, Oscar is the creative force that allows Neymar, Willian, Hulk and the rest of the Brazilian heartbeat to keep ticking – if he is on, they will flourish, but if he is off, that could spell disaster.

There is only so much dancing Neymar can do to influence the national team – sometimes you just need your number 10 to, well, be your number 10. – Drew Thompson

Sure Neymar is getting all the hype and Bernard is drawing scout’s attention, but the man who is going to make Brazil play good football will be none other than Oscar.

This crafty playmaker has been the centerpiece for A Selecao, and is the reason why the team has such strong cohesiveness.

Without him, there’s no way Neymar and Fred will be able to find that space. Oscar’s passes and vision will be the engine that makes Brazil move forward and if an injury occurs, people will see this team collapse before them. – Young Kim
