Ruben Amorim is all set to become the new Manchester United, reportedly turning down interest from Manchester City to seize the opportunity to manage at Old Trafford.

Currently with Sporting Lisbon, the 39-year-old Amorim is set to take charge following the recent sacking of Erik ten Hag, who was dismissed after United’s 2-1 loss to West Ham, which left the club 14th in the Premier League.

CaughtOffside and other sources reveal that while Manchester City saw Amorim as a potential successor to Pep Guardiola, they were unable to provide him with a definitive timeline for Guardiola’s departure.

This uncertainty was a decisive factor, as Amorim was eager to make an immediate move to the Premier League and take on new challenges.

United’s ability to act quickly, combined with their willingness to pay Amorim’s €10 million release clause, made their offer more appealing. The Portuguese tactician will reportedly earn €8 million per year on a two-plus-one-year contract.
