Arsenal were 6-0 winners at the London Stadium in February, the first time either side had scored 6+ in this fixture since 1976, but the Gunners are now targeting back-to-back victories in East London for the first time in a decade, back when West Ham were still at the Boleyn Ground.

West Ham United vs Arsenal Preview

It's been a perfect week for Arsenal, so can they continue their excellent form in this London derby? Last weekend, the Gunners swatted aside Nottingham Forest 3-0 at home with Bukayo Saka breaking the deadlock via a stunning, solo strike, Thomas Partey doubled their advantage from long-range before Ethan Nwaneri slotted home his first-ever Premier League goal. This ended Arsenal's four-game winless run in the league, meaning they're just a point below Man City and nine adrift run-away leaders Liverpool.

Then, on Tuesday night, Mikel Arteta's team smashed Sporting CP 5-1 in Lisbon, claiming the club's biggest away Champions League victory for 21 years. Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, Gabriel, Saka and Leandro Trossard all on target during a rout at Estádio José Alvalade, propelling the Gunners up to seventh in the gigantic Champions League table. Now, they need precious Premier League points, so will Arsenal win again?

West Ham United meantime also claimed a vital victory this week, surprisingly beating Newcastle 2-0 at St James Park with Tomáš Souček and then Aaron Wan-Bissaka on target on Tyneside. Before this, having won only three of 11 matches, Julen Lopetegui was under enormous pressure, but that'll surely have been, at least somewhat, alleviated by Monday's victory, giving this clash more of a free-hit element. Nevertheless, Hammers supporters are also desperate to get one over Arsenal, hoping to exact revenge for February's humiliating 6-0 trouncing, so can the Irons dent the Gunners' flailing title aspirations?

West Ham United Team News

Mohammed Kudus is serving the last of his five-match ban, following his sending off against Spurs. In goal, Łukasz Fabiański will face his former club, starting a fifth successive match, having superseded Alphonse Areola in the pecking order. Centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo hobbled off against Newcastle but is expected to fit, meaning another former Gunner Konstantinos Mavropanos won't be required to deputise. Both Guido Rodríguez and Edson Álvarez were left out on Tyneside, with Lucas Paquetá dropping deep alongside Tomáš Souček, so will Julen Lopetegui continue to be as bold?

West Ham United predicted lineup vs Arsenal: (4-2-3-1): Fabiański; Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Emerson; Souček, Paquetá, Bowen, Soler, Summerville; Antonio.

West Ham United Players to Watch vs Arsenal

Michail Antonio has just one goal to his name this season, while he's also only ever netted once in 13 attempts against Arsenal, so can he add to both at the London Stadium?

Arsenal Team News

Arsenal are without full-backs Benjamin White and Takehiro Tomiyasu, meaning it's likely to be Riccardo Calafiori and Jurriën Timber once again, although Kieran Tierney was back on the bench in Lisbon, hoping to feature for Arsenal for the first time since August 2023. Mikel Arteta rotated his team against Nottingham Forest, but is set to name an unchanged side from the XI that hammered Sporting, with Declan Rice, Thomas Partey, Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz having returned from the start. Bizarrely, despite having only featured for 212 minutes, Gabriel Jesus is one yellow card away from a suspension.

Arsenal predicted lineup vs West Ham United: (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Partey, Rice, Ødegaard ; Saka, Martinelli, Havertz.

Arsenal Player to Watch vs West Ham United

Martin Ødegaard was back to his scintillating best on Tuesday, while he's previously scored twice at the London Stadium, so will he star in Stratford again?

West Ham United vs Arsenal Prediction

We are backing Arsenal to win this one. The Gunners have looked back to their best this week, while West Ham have been generally underwhelming throughout this campaign, so we're forecasting that the visitors' quality will see them to victory: West Ham United 0-2 Arsenal.
