3) Emi Martínez: Argentina & Aston Villa
Defending champions Argentina have become the first team to win all three Copa América group games without conceding a goal since Colombia 23 years ago; los Cafeteros went on to win the competition back in 2001, keeping a clean sheet in all six matches, something la Albiceleste are looking to emulate.
It's no coincidence that, since Emi Martínez made his international debut three years ago, Argentina have lost only twice, hoisting aloft the Copa América, Finalissima and World Cup trophies. Known as Dibu, he has 42 caps to his name, taking his tally to 31 clean sheets at international level, conceding only 16 times in these matches; remarkable statistics.
At this tournament, Martínez has made six saves, but hasn't been particularly busy, with some credit due to Premier League-based centre-back duo Cristian Romero and Lisandro Martínez. Nevertheless, Emi Martínez has been solid and, as the tournament progresses, his importance is only likely to grow, especially given his tendency to impact penalty shootouts, winning each of the last five he's featured in for club and country.
