On the final day of games during the September international break, several Premier League players were in action for their countries. Let's debrief how things went down for each and every one of them.
Premier League international round up: Tuesday
Mo Salah was on target for Egypt as they managed a resounding 4-0 win away to Botswana in AFCON qualifying.
Elsewhere in AFCON qualifying, Calvin Basset, Wifred Ndidi, and Ola Aina all started for Nigeria in a frustrating 0-0 draw away to Rwanda. Taiwo Awoniyi was a late substitute.
Meanwhile, Simon Adingra started for the Ivory Coast in their 2-0 win away to Chad. Amad Diallo was introduced in the second half.
It was another good day for Yves Bissouma, as his second goal in as many games over this break was enough to secure a 1-0 win for Mali.
To finish off AFCON qualifying, it was a frustrating day for Andre Onana, Carlos Baleba and Bryan Mbuemo, who all started for Cameroon in their 0-0 draw away to Zimbabwe.
As for the Asian World Cup qualifiers, Heung Min-Son and Hee-Chan Hwang both started and scored for South Korea in their 3-1 win away to Oman. Son also provided two assists.
Elsewhere, Karou Mitoma and Karou Mitoma both started for Japan, as they followed up their 7-0 win over China with another battering, this time away to Bahrain with a 5-0 victory.
Onto the nations league. Dominik Szoboszlai played the 90 minutes and captained Hungary in their 0-0 draw at home to Bosnia & Hergegovina.
In the same group, Bert Verbruggen, Matthijs De Ligt, Virgil Van Dijk, Nathan Ake, Ryan Gravenberch, and Cody Gakpo started for the Netherlands in their 2-2 draw at home to Germany. Jurrien Timber and Jan Paul van Hecke were introduced off the bench. Kai Havertz played 90 minutes for Germany.
Elsewhere, Tomas Soucek scored a penalty to help Czechia to a 3-2 victory against Ukraine. Club team mate Vladimir Coufal also started the game. Vitaily Mykolenko, Illia Zabarnyi, Mykhalo Mudryk, and Oleksandr Zinchenko all started for Ukraine.
Over in Dublin, Caoimhin Kelleher, Andrew Omobamidele, Nathan Collins, Dara O'Shea, Chiedozie Ogbene, Will Smallbone and Sammie Szmodics all started for the Republic of Ireland as they made it back-to-back 2-0 defeats to start the Heimir Hallgrimsson era. Matt Doherty, Evan Ferguson and Kasey McAteer came on in the second half. Konstantinos Mavropanos and Konstantinos Tsimikas both played the 90 minutes for Greece.
South of the border, England defeated Finland 2-0 in the same group. Jordan Pickford, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ezri Konsa, John Stones, Rico Lewis, Declan Rice, Jack Grealish, Bukayo Saka and Anthony Gordon all started for England. Alexander-Arnold assisted the first goal. Levi Colwill, Eberechi Eze, Marc Guehi, Jarrod Bowen, and Noni Madueke, who assisted the second goal, all came on.
